TAMPA - Three Lutz men suspected in at least seven North Tampa carjackings and robberies in April have been arrested, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies arrested David Anthony Ferrer, 32, of 14920 19th St. N, Thomas B. Barham, 52, of 1913 Sinclair Hills Road, and Victor Olavarria, 32, of 1903 148th Ave.
Ferrer faces multiple charges for robberies that took place on four dates. The other two men have each been charged with helping Ferrer once with one of the crimes.
In six of the cases, deputies said, the men used guns when they confronted their victims. They approached people in parking lots, robbed them of personal belongings and drove off in the victims' vehicles.
The carjackings or burglaries took place from April 12 to April 20. Deputies think the three men also were involved in a carjacking and armed robbery April 24 in the 2800 block of Somerset Park Drive. Two men with handguns confronted a woman, took her money, purse and keys and drove off in her vehicle.
Investigators said the robbers may have accomplices who may be driving a small, red sport utility vehicle or a black sports sedan.
