Festival focuses on fun, resources for families

ST. PETERSBURG Weed and Seed's 11th annual Family Fun Day Festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the James B. Sanderlin Family Service Center, 2335 22nd Ave. S. The free festival aims to educate residents about resources available through the city, social service, health care agencies and the faith community. The festival includes face-painting, storytelling, entertainment, giveaways, medical screenings, agency presentations, inflatable games, music, food and ice cream. Information: 892-5087. ST. PETERSBURG Celebrating 40 years Northeast Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special service at 9 a.m. Sunday. Over the years, the church property at 4400 Shore Acres Blvd. has grown to include several buildings and the sanctuary has been enlarged. Sunday's service will include testimonies, a slide presentation and communion. Afternoon activities on the church grounds will include games and will begin at 3 p.m. A cookout will be served at 5 p.m. Call 526-6083 or e-mail info@nepres.org. LARGO Musical recalls '20s Indian Rocks Christian School will present Flapper, a musical comedy tribute to the 1920s. The musical will be shown at the school, 12685 Ulmerton Road, at 7 p.m. Thursday, 1 and 7 p.m. Friday, and 6 p.m. Saturday. Tickets cost $12.50 for adults and $8 for students. They are available in the school office, at church services, at www.indianrocks.org and at the door.
