Armwood was the Class 4A football runnerup two years ago. Plant won the Class 4A title last year.

If either school returns to the Florida High School Athletic Association championship series this year, it won't drive as far.

The FHSAA announced Tuesday the 2007 and 2008 football finals will be held at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, moving them much closer to the Tampa Bay area than the past two years, when Miami served as host.

Orlando was picked over Gainesville and Miami, according to the FHSAA. Edgewater High will serve as host.

"We are very excited about bringing the association's biggest state finals event to Orlando, " FHSAA commissioner John Stewart said in a statement. "We've long wanted to bring a major state finals event to the Orlando area and we're pleased that we now have the opportunity to do so."
