Winners of the Ultimate Local Band contest, sponsored by tampabay.com, converge tonight for Rock, Rhythm and Brews, a celebration of local music. Performing will be reggae band Tribal Style, world beat eclectic gurus D'Visitors, progressive punkers Heroine and modern rockers Trace of Day. The competition was held in conjunction with the TBT Ultimate Local Band Guide, which looked at nearly 100 acts. Fans voted by text message. The show is from 7:30 to midnight tonight at Crowbar, 1812 17th St. N, Ybor City. $15. (813) 241-4600.

The bands

TRIBAL STYLE: The band started in 1993 in Long Beach, Calif., where its members jammed with Sublime at parties. It plays a mix of progressive jams and traditional roots reggae.

D'VISITORS: The multicultural, multi-instrumental eight-piece group plays songs that skip from dub to ska to jazz to reggae to funk to calypso.

HEROINE: The band delivers a high-octane blend of glam metal, classic rock and punk.

TRACE OF DAY: On its seven-song CD Farewell, Goodnight, the five-piece alt-rock outfit plays thunderous rock. They put on a wildly energetic stage show.
