TAMPA -Two men were arrested early Sunday, accused of shooting a man at La Rasquachita Grill Saturday afternoon.

Tampa police said that victim Jose Avel Gonzalez, 18, was with friends at the restaurant, 5602 N Armenia Ave., when Jose F. Martinez, 21, pulled a .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun and shot Gonzalez three times in the stomach.

Martinez and Fidel Gonzalez Munis, 22, then fled in a pickup truck, a report said.

Munis was arrested at his home just before midnight Saturday, Martinez was arrested at 3 a.m. at his home the following morning. Neither was cooperative with officers, police said.

Gonzalez was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he remained in critical, but stable condition Sunday. Detectives have determined the victim and suspects knew each other and are still working to determine the motive of the shooting.

Martinez and Munis were being held in the Orient Road Jail without bail, charged with attempted first-degree murder.
