Brown bag event focus is planning for disasters

The University of South Florida St. Petersburg is hosting a community brown bag discussion Friday to talk about disasters and disaster planning.

The noon session, called "Coping With Disaster: Will We Ever Learn?, " includes discussions about public policy and whether communities in extremely hazardous areas should be rebuilt after disasters. USGS, 600 Fourth St. S. Free. Call 553-1186.


Three-day home show begins Friday

The Tampa Bay Home Show starts Friday at Tropicana Field. The three-day event features hundreds of area home specialists to help with all kinds of projects. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $3 for adults, free for those 16 and under. Information: 825-3137.


Help is available on benefit questions

Still confused about some of the recent Medicare changes? A representative from the Pinellas Park Social Security office will be available at 2 p.m. Thursday to answer questions about Medicare Part D or Social Security benefits.
