GPA: 4.53 weighted.
Clubs/extracurriculars: Basketball, National Honor Society, Student Council, Ecology Club.
Favorite place on campus: Mr. Mark DeCrosta's science classroom.
If you could, what would you change about your high school? There are a few strict regulations I would probably ease up on, but other than that, I would have to say I'd repaint the buildings; the red building looks orange, and the orange building just looks weird. This is a major issue facing our school. People can get lost!
Future school: University of Florida.
Ideal career: Knight of King Arthur's roundtable.
Favorite book: The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. (I must have read it five or six times.)
Most inspirational person: Mark DeCrosta, science teacher at J.W. Mitchell High School, because of his love for the environment and his valiant efforts to spread education to help protect the environment. The main thing is that he loves what he does, and everybody can tell by the smile on his face.
Best advice/quote: "You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take." - Wayne Gretzky
(I never fully understood it, however, since it defies the laws of mathematics: 0/0 is an undefined proportion.)
GPA: 4.4886 weighted
Clubs/extracurriculars: Interact Club (vice president), National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America. I've worked at Carlucci's Italian Restaurant for more than two years now.
Favorite place on campus: Aside from the chemical swarming den of Mr. Braddy's science laboratory, Ms. Lawlor's cave of amazingly awkward philosophical debates, and Mrs. Imperatore's lair of mind-blowing math jokes, I've always been attached to my lunchtime palm tree that I've shared some perplexing quandaries of life around.
Future school: I have a new home waiting for me in Orlando at the University of Central Florida. It's calling my name, and I'm definitely ready for it.
Ideal career: It would be nice to know exactly what I want to do with my life, but I'm settling with the toss-up of wanting to be a brain surgeon one day, a rocket scientist the next, and the possibility of gynecology always awkwardly lurking.
Favorite book: The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
Most inspirational person/people: I wanted to avoid the cheesy and corny, but I've always looked to my parents for a shoulder to cry on or a word of advice or even the occasional dancing partner. If that fails (because, to be honest, it's a scary thought that I think that moms are always right), I've always had my sister and five of my amazing friends to support me. If all else fails, I've found that a Slurpee and baking some cookies can fix anything.
Best advice/quote: My sister once quoted the television show Boy Meets World: "Life's tough. Get a helmet."
