What's new: The school name, for one. Effective this summer, Tampa Baptist officially becomes Tampa Bay Christian Academy. The team still will be nicknamed the Rams, but its swirling-horn logo - a virtual replicate of the St. Louis Rams' - has been replaced for now by solid gold helmets. ...Because his ranks are frighteningly thin, Duggan may have to rethink his aspirations of implementing a double-slot offense. Fourteen players suited up for Wednesday's practice, though Duggan noted two others were getting academically tutored and one was serving detention. ...The quarterback spot also is expected to have a new facemask. Projected starter Phillip Plant is focusing on baseball after showing promise last fall, leaving Jonesia - a 5-foot-7 senior - as the likely starter for now.

Did you know?: After spending their first two years as an independent, the Rams enter district play this fall, in Class B-6. ...Duggan's goal is to have 20 players suited up for 2007. Right now, that seems ambitious.
