Changes coming to sptimes.com

Be on the lookout for some improvements to our news section and our site's navigation.

On Tuesday we’ll roll out the first of several exciting changes to our Web site:

Change #1:

You won’t need a compass and a map to find the news you want.

Our site currently organizes stories in the same way we zone information for our print editions.  We think you’ll find it easier to get all your Pinellas news, for instance, under one roof. Here’s the breakdown:

Change #2:

There's a site mte map at the top of every page.

Roll your mouse over the blue links at the top of every page to see the content that lives in each area. Click directly to the information you want – whether it’s news from your county, news about the nation, a travel feature or movie reviews. Job hunting? You can start your search with just one click off of any page.

Change #3:

We’ve expanded the News channel.

Our newspaper site, sptimes.com, has been doing double duty for the past year, serving as the main “News” channel for our portal, tampabay.com, and reflecting the news from the day’s paper.

Now a section called “News” will report the latest goings-on across the region, state and world. When you click on   sptimes.com, you will get only the stories from that day’s St. Petersburg Times.

We’re interested in hearing what our readers think. Please e-mail your comments and questions to comments@tampabay.com.
