Eden Baptist Church, 22308 Lake Lindsey Road, will host a community movie night at 7 on May 19. The featured film, Facing the Giants, is a drama about a high school football coach who finds a purpose bigger than team victories. Admission is free. Call 796-3855. St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 8064 Weeping Willow St., will host its annual spring picnic at noon May 20 and will feature Music by Kathy for dancing and a menu of sausages, hot dogs, pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kapusta, salads, desserts and coffee. First Baptist Church, 420 Howell Ave., is accepting free registrations for children who will be entering first through sixth grades for vacation Bible school. The program will be from 9 a.m. to noon June 11 through 15. The theme is "Game Day Central." The church will host a free pre-vacation Bible school Family Fun Day featuring carnival-type games, slides, a dunking booth, snow cones, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 9. Springs of Life Family Church has moved to 19832 County Line Road. Service times are 10:30 a.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Thursdays. St. Paul the Apostle Apostolic Catholic Church will host a free concert by the Hernando Concert Club at 4 p.m. today in the fellowship hall of United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd. The music will be from the 1940s through the 1980s and will feature the songs of Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and others. First United Methodist Church, 9344 Spring Hill Drive, will host summer camp for children in first through fifth grades from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 31 through Aug. 17. There will be Bible lessons, singing, crafts, puppets, theme weeks, outdoor recreation and water days. Registration forms are available at the welcome center and in the church office. Nativity Lutheran Church, 6363 Commercial Way, is accepting registrations for vacation Bible school. Registration is free until June 1. After that date it will be $5 per child. The school will run from 9 a.m. until noon June 18 through 22 for ages 5 to 12. The theme, "Quest for Truth, " will provide an archaeological dig setting. Call Sandy at 592-5485.
