Deirdre Imus postponed her book tour for Green This! Greening Your Cleaning after her husband, Don, was fired from CBS Radio. We caught up with the children's health advocate by phone from New York.

What's on your nightstand?

I've got a stack of books on the nightstand and on my floor as well. I recommend four books: The Power of Duck by Takao Furuno, The China Study by T. Colin Campbell and Thomas M. Campbell II, Healing the New Childhood Epidemics by Kenneth Bock and Cameron Stauth, and Obsessive Genius: The Inner World of Marie Curie by Barbara Goldsmith.

Who inspires you?

Sandra Steingraber (Having Faith and Living Downstream). She reminds me of Rachel Carson (Silent Spring).
