Dreamer of the day
By TOM JONES
Published May 14, 2007
Dreamer of the day Mike Hall was the first winner of Dream Job, the ESPN Apprentice-like reality show that had contestants competing each week and the winner getting a contract with ESPN. Well, Hall's dream at ESPN is over. He has left his position at ESPNU to move back to his native Chicago to explore other broadcast opportunities. Autograph of the day Before a recent game at Cleveland's Jacobs Field, Blue Jays centerfielder Vernon Wells was heckled by about 100 fans, including one who threw him a baseball to sign. Wells wrote on the ball, "Dear Mr. Dork, Here is your ball! Can you please tell me what gas station you work at, so when you are pumping my gas, I can yell at you!!! Now sit down, shut up and enjoy the game. Your favorite center fielder." Rich guy fight of the day After Donald Trump said Mavs owner Mark Cuban puts too much pressure on his players, Cuban told the New York Post: "I guess Donald is still upset that he can't afford to buy an NBA team. No doubt the cash requirements of more than $10, 000 created a problem for him. Hopefully he will sell enough Trump Steaks, Trump Perfume and Trump Dolls to save some money and buy a team."
