Adopt a new family member Saturday

Home at Last Pet Adoptions Inc. and Pet Supermarket will host an adoptathon from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the market, 4316 Commercial Way.
The event will include adoptions of kittens and cats, all which have been spayed or neutered, have all age-appropriate vaccinations, are negative for feline leukemia and feline AIDS, have been microchipped and have been treated for parasites. There is a set adoption fee for each cat and kitten.
Also, dog and cat owners can bring their pets to the event to be microchipped. The cost is $15 to have microchips installed and includes lifetime registration.

Home at Last Pet Adoptions is a nonprofit organization; adoption fees are tax-deductible. The organization also collects empty printer cartridges to donate to the Cash for Critters recycling program.

Girl Scouts to host 'Shrek III' screening
Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council will host a Movie Fun Night at 6 p.m. Friday at Joy-Lan Drive In Theater, 16414 U.S. 301 N. The movie to be shown is Shrek III. There will also be crafts and games. The cost is $3 for girls ages 5 to 8 and $3.50 for ages 9 and older. Current Girl Scouts who bring a friend who registers will receive a gift and recruiter patch. Kiwanis golf tourney rescheduled to May 24
The Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill has rescheduled its second Golf Klassic to May 24 at the Brooksville Golf and Country Club at Majestic Oaks, 23446 Links Drive.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Trophies will be awarded for first-, second- and third-place teams. There will be closest to the pin, hole-in-one, longest drive and putting contests. The entry fee is $85 per golfer or $300 per team, which includes the tournament and lunch. Hole sponsorships are available for $75. Registration deadline is May 21.

LEMONADE STAND FUNDRAISER AIDS CANCER RESEARCH
The Mother's Club of Hernando County will host Alex's Lemonade Stand on Saturday at these locations:
- 8 a.m. to noon, Veterans Memorial Park, 12254 Spring Hill Drive.
- 2 to 6 p.m., Wal-Mart Supercenter, 13300 Cortez Blvd.
