Brooksville resident killed in Pasco crash

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the woman who died in a single vehicle crash on the Suncoast Parkway on Saturday in Pasco County as Penelope Helms McCord, 53, of Brooksville. Accident investigators said the woman was driving north about 6 p.m. around 2 miles north of the Anclote toll plaza when her Ford pickup crashed into the median and overturned several times. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Kindergarten Round-up Thursday
Brooksville Elementary School will host a Kindergarten Round-up from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Parents can stop by and pick up registration packets, available in the front office. Those who return the packets before July 2 will receive a free kindergarten T-shirt and a goody bag. The following documents are required to register a student: the child's birth certificate (original, not a copy), parent's driver's license, child's Social Security card, proof of residence and the child's physical and immunization records.
