Tonight: Rays vs. Rangers

When/where: 7:10; The Ballpark at Disney's Wide World of Sports, Lake Buena Vista

TV/radio: FSN; 1250-AM, 680-AM (Spanish)

Probable pitchers: Rays - RHP James Shields (3-0, 3.10); Rangers - RHP Brandon McCarthy (3-4, 6.89)

Watch for ...

Rising ace: Over his past four starts, Rays starter James Shields has been the team's top pitcher, highlighted by nine scoreless innings of three-hit ball Wednesday against the Orioles.

Rolling Ranger: Texas starter Brandon McCarthy, acquired from the White Sox, is on something of a roll, having beaten the Blue Jays and Yankees in his past two starts, allowing one run in each, but overall has allowed 58 baserunners in 311/3 innings. McCarthy is 1-2, 7.71 in four games against the Rays.

Norton sighting: 1B/DH Greg Norton, on the DL since spring training, was to have his surgically repaired right knee checked and could be activated this series. If so, it could mean a demotion for Jonny Gomes or Jorge Cantu.
