Army Pvt. Valerie R. Chandler, daughter of Mike D. and Patty J. Catlin of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the Food Service Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

Army Pvt. James D. Johnson, son of Cathy Dalrymple of St. Petersburg, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is a 2005 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School.

Navy Ensign Jason D. Paradis, son of Doug and Sue Paradis of St. Petersburg, recently graduated from Officer Candidate School at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. He plans to continue his training in Charleston, S.C., to become a nuclear submarine warfare officer. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in physics and math.

These recruits have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas:

Air Force Airman Jonathan C. Allan, son of Janet Allan of St. Petersburg and a 1999 graduate of Pinellas Park High School.

Air Force Airman Bryan S. Bowermaster, son of Brenda Boldin of St. Petersburg and a 2004 graduate of Dixie M. Hollins High School.
