One last blast before goodbye

Above, pre-K student Olivia Wallace, 5, rides Dixie, a Brendale Farms pony, on Tuesday during a carnival to say goodbye to the old Dunedin Elementary School at 531 Beltrees St. Third-grader James Gray, 9, blows bubbles during the event. The students and faculty will be moving to the new campus at 900 Union St. when school restarts in the fall. The new Dunedin Elementary School will be larger, more secure and beefed up to meet hurricane standards. The Beltrees Street site will undergo a year of renovations and upgrades before the Curtis Fundamental students occupy it in the fall of 2008.
