Girls volleyball league fees, rosters are due

A coaches meeting for the city of Brooksville Department of Parks and Recreation's girls volleyball league will be at 7 tonight at the Jerome Brown Community Center, 99 Jerome Brown Place. Rosters and fees are due at this meeting. The cost is $15 per player, plus an $80 sponsor fee. The league is for middle school and high school age participants. For information, call 544-5498.
Register your child for kindergarten
Brooksville Elementary School will host a kindergarten roundup from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Parents can stop by and pick up registration packets, available in the front office. Those who return the packets before July 2 will receive a free kindergarten T-shirt and a goody bag. The following documents are required to register a student: the child's birth certificate (original, not a copy), parent's driver's license, child's Social Security card, proof of residence and the child's physical and immunization records. The school is at 855 N Broad St. Call 797-7014.
Athletes invited to take physicals
High School Physical Day will be Saturday at the Center for Bone and Joint Disease, 11307 Cortez Blvd., in the Oak Hill Hospital complex. Local high school and middle school athletes are invited to receive their physicals during this time. The cost is $25, with funds raised to be donated back to the Hernando Athletic Program. Athletes are asked to attend during the time slotted for their school (or school they will be attending): 8 a.m., Nature Coast Technical High School; 9 a.m., Springstead High School; 10 a.m., Hernando High School; 11 a.m., Central High School. Club holds annual awards banquet
The African American Club of Hernando County will host its 12th annual awards banquet Sunday at the Palace Grand, 275 Della Court, off Commercial Way.
