EAST LAKE 43, PORT CHARLOTTE 3: The host Eagles outscored Port Charlotte 31-0 during varsity play. East Lake's Micah Powell had more than 100 yards rushing and receiving, including a 70-yard catch for a touchdown. Blake Robles went 7-for-10 passing for the Eagles.

NORTHEAST 42, LAKELAND GEORGE JENKINS 24: Jay Austin's debut as Vikings coach was a success. Jeff Brinson rushed for 271 yards and three touchdowns. Juarez Wynn had two scores, the first on a 70-yard pass from Armando Sanchez and the last on a 55-yard run. Bo Chisolm rounded out the scoring for Northeast with a 5-yard run.

DUNEDIN 21, BRADENTON SOUTHEAST 16: Dunedin tailback Landrick Howard scored on a 23-yard run with nine minutes to go to lift the Falcons. Dunedin sophomore Darius Bellamy had 14 carries for 60 yards, and John Toston caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Terry Nnatabeugo.

LARGO 14, SARASOTA RIVERVIEW 10: Largo junior Brynn Harvey rushed for more than 200 yards and two touchdowns. Harvey, the Times' 2006 Player of the Year, scored on runs of 81 and 45, making up for the absence of star quarterback Leonard Johnson, who sat out with back spasms.

Harvey's 45-yard touchdown run capped a 99-yard drive in the second quarter, which started thanks to Mike Marry's interception at the 1.
