Mother takes baby along to heroin deal, police say

LARGO - A St. Petersburg woman was arrested on a child neglect charge Friday after she allowed her boyfriend to sell heroin in front of her 1-year-old daughter, police reported.

Dequisha Harriette Mosley, 19, also faces multiple drug charges. Her boyfriend, Deon Ursery, 26, of St. Petersburg, was arrested on drug charges.

Police said Mosley had her daughter in the back seat as she drove Ursery to the location of a $200 drug buy. Her daughter was not properly restrained, police reported.


Child drowns in pool

ST. PETERSBURG - A 7-year-old boy drowned at a pool party Saturday in southern St. Petersburg. Benjamin Gaddy's heart had stopped beating when St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue arrived at 761 55th Ave S. The boy was taken to All Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.


Motorcyclist killed

ST. PETERSBURG - A motorcyclist was thrown from a bike and died Saturday night on southbound Interstate 275 near 38th Avenue N, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist's identity was not immediately released by authorities. The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m., blocking lanes of southbound traffic.

A second crash occurred during a subsequent investigation around 10:30 p.m., closing Interstate 275 starting at 54th Avenue N.

At least three people, including one highway patrol trooper, were injured, according to authorities. The extent of their injuries were unknown late Saturday.
