TAMPA

A Blake High School social studies teacher was arrested early Sunday on a charge of driving under the influence. Jennifer L. Morley, 48, of Tampa, was driving east on Interstate 4 when police pulled her over about 2:34 a.m. because she was weaving, an arrest report states. Morley was slurring her words and "performed unsatisfactorily" on several field sobriety tests, the report states. She also refused to take a breath test. She was released from the Orient Road Jail Sunday after posting $500 bail.

Trapping cats may help bunnies thrive

More bunnies. That's the goal of a program beginning next week to protect a rare Florida Keys rabbit named for Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner. Wildlife officials will begin to trap predatory feral and stray cats in an area that is home to the rabbits, or Sylvilagus palustris hefneri. Scientists are concerned because the population of rabbits on Big Pine Key is in danger of being wiped out. Hefner financed research that identified the species of medium-sized, dark brown cottontails in 1980.

It would be really novel if the media did not just present one side of a story. Jennifer is a wonderful and kind humanitarian. I am sure there is another side to this story, but it may not sell papers.

Teachers are supposed to set an example for students driving drunk is not exactly doing that,I think the penalties for DUI in this state are to lenient anyway. They need tougher laws for drunks.they should post all the drunks pics for public to see.

She was driving drunk people. Come on Carla if she was not breaking the law by driving drunk she would not be in the paper. I drive for a living and would not let something like DUI affect my livelihood. Good they got her before she killed someone...

With all that is going on in the world today, why is something like this newsworthy enought to be in your newspaper. What happened to "Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law".

Shame on the St. Pete Times for publishing the name of the teacher arrested for DUI. This will now affect her livelihood! Perhaps you guys should also publish the names of your employees who get arrested under similar circumstances!
