Calvary Christian

Coach: Chris Rivera (second year)

2006 record: 7-3

Key losses: RB Jamie Center, QB/FS Lucas Spoerl, G/LB Matt Mahony, LT Spencer Ray, LB/CB Jordan Weaver

Key returners: RB Patrick Tomeney, MLB Nate Ustianowski, FB Tommy Witcher, RT Thomas Hooten, DL Steve Carrick, RB Blake Rowland, QWB Buddy Adzima

Spring skinny: The Warriors came in having to replace several key starters, especially Spoerl and Center, who amassed more than 2, 000 all-purpose yards last season. As shown in their 38-0 win over Academy of the Lakes on Friday, the Warriors still will be a run-orientated, wing-T team (333 yards on 33 carries Friday). But it will be more by committee, with Rowland leading the way.

Gamebreaker: Rowland, a senior-to-be, is a force at tight end, wing back or strong-side linebacker. The Warriors' best overall player likely will be plenty busy this season.

Key questions: Who will step into the quarterback spot left by Spoerl? Right now, it's Buddy Adzima's job to lose as he showed great poise in throwing for two TDs and running for another Friday. And how will junior Thomas Hooten handle the move from right tackle to center?
