Now's your chance. Local state legislators have scheduled town hall meetings this week and next in anticipation of next month's special legislative session on property taxes:
-6 to 8 p.m. today, St. Petersburg Sunshine Center, 330 Fifth St. N.

-7 to 9 p.m. June 6, Tarpon Springs Commission Chamber, 324 Pine St.
40 sites available to recycle phone books
New phone books will appear on your doorstep soon, so recycle that old one. Residents can go to one of 40 dropoff locations around the county.
Most sites have bins labeled "phone books." If not, put the phone books in the "mixed paper" or "magazines" bins but not in the "newspaper" bin. For a list of phone book recycling sites, visit www.pinellascounty.org/utilities or call 464-7500.
Pinellas residents discard more than 2-million phone books annually.
To reduce the number of phone books delivered to your office or house this year, call Verizon at 1-800-888-8448 or Yellow Book at 1-800-929-3556.
