Library to show The Shawshank Redemption: 2 p.m., West Hernando/Staffordene T. Foggia Branch Library, 6335 Blackbird Ave., Spring Hill. The film stars Tim Robbins as a banker serving a life sentence after being wrongly convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover. In prison, he befriends another prisoner also serving a life sentence, played by Morgan Freeman. The movie is rated R. There is no cost to attend. Light refreshments will be served. 540-6391.

Brooksville City Hall Art Gallery: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. Exhibit participants include the Hernando Quilters, John Brown Woodcarvers Fellowship, Suncoast Ship Model Society, Spring Hill Camera Club and Just Poets, as well as paintings by E.M. Belknap Jr., Harv Berman, Norman R. Freyer, Gail D. Rose and Clarence Williamson. There is also an exhibit of African art, courtesy of Elaine Carnette of Brooksville, along with semi-precious jewelry designed and crafted by Lynda Spencer Ryan. A reception is planned for June 27, when the public will have a chance to meet the artists. 544-5407.
