Leadership group names citizen of year

TAMPA -- James "Jim" Shimberg Jr. was named Citizen of the Year last week by the Tampa Connection, a nonprofit leadership development organization that prepares class members to become active volunteers. He is a partner in Holland & Knight in Tampa.

He was deemed Citizen of the Year for his community involvement with Volunteer Florida, Tampa Jewish Federation, the local chapter of the American Red Cross, and numerous other groups and organizations.
