OSCEOLA - Pinellas Park/Meadowlawn/Northwest's team came up with a slogan in the beginning of the season - 11 girls, one team, one goal: Win the Tournament of Champions.

Objective met.

PP/MDL/NW scored four in the first inning and cruised to a 17-6 win over Southwest on Thursday in the finals of the Minor Softball District 5 Little League TOC at Cross Bayou.

"It's amazing how far these girls have come since the beginning of the season, " PP/MDL/NW coach Henry Albritton said. "They set a goal and met it."

Shelby Nowakowski's three-run, inside-the-park homer to right-centerfield highlighted PP/MDL/NW's four-run first. Shelby Pike added a two-run double in the third, and Shelbi Adams had a two-run single an inning later.

Adams and sister Jaymi combined to strike out six Southwest batters.

Seminole #1 overcame an early three-run deficit and completed an undefeated run through the TOC with a come-from-behind 11-6 win against Azalea in the title game at Northeast.

Down 3-2, Seminole exploded with five runs in the third inning and didn't trail again. Starter Chase Michael, Chris Cuellar and Chenzo LoSasso combined for the win. LoSasso struck out the side in the fifth and sixth to close out the game.

Robert Miller 3-for-4 led Seminole's 12-hit attack. Kurt Meinch, James Gillespie and LoSasso had two hits apiece for Seminole.
