High achievers earn top honors

We conclude our tribute to the best and brightest of the Class of 2007 with a look at the co-valedictorians and salutatorian from Clearwater Central Catholic High School, which names its top graduates later than other schools. Co-valedictorians Sara Elizabeth Cheikelard and David Connor Driscoll share a GPA of 4.4915.

Co-valedictorians Sara Elizabeth
Parents: Ayman and Peggy Cheikelard of Clearwater
Activities: Member and treasurer of both the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Sara was also a member of the Math Honor Society, International Club, Academic Team and literary magazine. She received the St. Julie Billiart Award for keeping alive CCC's tradition of doing random acts of kindness. In March, she was named Largo Elks No. 2159 student of the month.
Plans: To attend Clemson University in South Carolina and major in architecture.
Co-valedictorians David Connor Driscoll
Parents: Dr. John and Mrs. Maura Driscoll of Largo
Activities: He was the senior class treasurer and a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Student Council, Academic Team, Key Club, Peer Ministry, and the track and field team. Fellow seniors voted to give David CCC's Distinguished Senior Award and faculty members named him to the Senior Hall of Fame. It is rare for one senior to receive both awards.
Plans: To major in biology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and to attend medical school.
Salutatorian: Nicole Joy Fregosi
Parents: Jim and Joni Fregosi of Tarpon Springs
Activities: Member of the Math Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society and school choir. President of the International Club. In addition to participating in basketball and track and field, Nicole received the Sportsmanship Award for volleyball her freshman year. Recently, Nicole signed with the modeling agency Benz in Tampa.
Plans: To study microbiology at the University of Florida.
