Men in Trees star Anne Heche wants sole custody of her 5-year-old son, saying her estranged husband is a liar who is trying to paint her as a bad mom. In a California Superior Court declaration filed Monday, she said Coleman Laffoon made "heinous false statements" and that when son Homer, stays with him in Los Angeles, he leaves the boy at preschool or with nannies or babysitters while he plays pingpong, backgammon and poker, and views Internet porn. Also, "he holds a poker game at his home every Thursday night and allows Homer to participate, " the document said. Heche wants temporary sole custody. Laffoon filed for divorce Feb. 2, citing irreconcilable differences. He wants joint custody and more than $30, 000 a month in spousal support.

Designer Michael Vollbracht out at Bill Blass

After a somewhat stormy four-year run, Safety Harbor resident Michael Vollbracht is out as designer at Bill Blass, Women's Wear Daily reported Friday. Vollbracht said he resigned Thursday because it is time to move on, but not necessarily elsewhere in the fashion world. An accomplished painter and illustrator, Vollbracht said, "I don't want to go anywhere except in my garden and anywhere that makes me happy." Blass executives could not be reached for comment.

Actor Ryan O'Neal's alleged assaults to stay all in the family

Prosecutors declined Friday to charge Ryan O'Neal with assault with a deadly weapon for firing a gun during a brawl with his older son. There was insufficient evidence "to prove this case to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt, " said a report from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office reported by the Associated Press. Mark Werksman, O'Neal's attorney, said prosecutors did the right thing by declining to pursue the case. O'Neal, 66, was arrested at his Malibu home Feb. 3. The actor has said he fired a warning shot to scare his 42-year-old son, Griffin O'Neal, who had attacked him with a fireplace poker during a fight.
