Girl scouts, get ready to twist at sock hop

The Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council's Brooksville Ridge Service Unit will host a Spring Fling Sock Hop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Coney Island Drive In, 1112 E Jefferson St. The event is for girls ages 5 to 17. There will be karaoke, prizes, games and contests such as hula hoop, twist and limbo. The cost is $5 per person, which includes a small drink, fries and chicken fingers. Help fund Boots and Pearls Ball
Friday is the deadline for sponsorships and ads for the Youth and Family Alternatives' second annual Boots and Pearls Ball, which will be June 15 at the Palace Grand, 275 Della Ave. Table sponsorships are available and range from $1, 000 to $1, 500. Advertising in the event program ranges from $50 for a business card ad to $250 for a full page. Tickets for the event are $60 each. A cash bar will open at 6:30 p.m. A barbecue dinner by Bear's Monster Grill will be served at 7 p.m., followed by entertainment by the Wiley Fox Band. There will also be a live auction. Sign up for Knights golf tournament
The Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council will host its annual scholarship golf tournament June 9 at the Seven Hills Golfers Club, 10599 Fairchild Road. Women and men are invited to participate. The cost is $45 per person. A shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. Following the tournament, there will be a luncheon and door prizes at St. Jude's Knights of Columbus Hall at 10470 Spring Hill Drive. A rain date is set for June 16. All proceeds will go to student scholarships. Cash donations and hole sponsorships are welcome.
