Florida National Cemetery Memorial Day ceremony: 10 a.m., 6502 SW 102nd Ave. Exit 309 off Interstate 75, Bushnell. The speaker will be Rear Adm. Leroy Collins Jr., executive director of the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs. Also included will be the Avenue of Flags, the South Sumter High School Band and singers Linda Burnette, Sheriff Bill Farmer and Laura Riley. "Some Annuals Like It Hot" free seminar: 10 a.m., Forest Oaks Government Center, 7479 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. The class will be provided by urban horticulture agent Jim Moll of the Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service. People attending will learn what annuals thrive in intense heat, as well as how to properly care for them. No registration required, but seating will be limited. 754-4433.

Brooksville City Hall Art Gallery: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. Exhibit participants include the Hernando Quilters, John Brown Woodcarvers Fellowship, Suncoast Ship Model Society, Spring Hill Camera Club and Just Poets, as well as paintings by E.M. Belknap Jr., Harv Berman, Norman R. Freyer, Gail D. Rose and Clarence Williamson. There is also an exhibit of African art, courtesy of Elaine Carnette of Brooksville, along with semi-precious jewelry designed and crafted by Lynda Spencer Ryan. A reception is planned for June 27, when the public will have a chance to meet the artists. 544-5407.
