Closings Memorial Day

The following will be closed today, unless otherwise noted.


All federal offices will be closed.

All state agencies will be closed.

County offices will be closed.

City offices will be closed, except police and fire departments.


Federal courts and state courts will be closed.

Buses and Streetcars

HART and HARTplus: on Saturday schedule. The TECO Line Streetcar System will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Shopping malls

The following will be open regular hours:

International Plaza

WestShore Plaza

University Mall

Westfield Citrus Park

Westfield Brandon

Garbage collection

City of Tampa commercial, residential and recycling will not have collection. McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scalehouse and South Manhattan Brush Site will be closed. Collection one day late until Wednesday.

Temple Terrace Public Works Department Offices will be closed and there will be no residential garbage collection or curbside recycling collection. Commercial garbage collection will not be affected.

Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Department will not have collection. Collection one day late through Wednesday.


Verizon Customer Service and Verizon Wireless stores will be open. Verizon Plus stores closed. Verizon Wireless stores will be open.

Tampa Electric offices will be closed.

People's Gas offices will be closed.

Post offices and mail delivery

All post offices will be closed; no mail delivery.


Hillsborough County public schools closed.

Hillsborough Community College closed.

University of Tampa offices closed.

University of South Florida offices closed.


All public libraries will be closed.


All banks will be closed.

Attractions, Museums

Tampa Museum of Art: closed.

Florida Aquarium: open regular hours.

Busch Gardens: open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Lowry Park Zoo: open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Tampa Recreation Department closed: Playgrounds, recreation centers, art studios, fitness centers.

Hillsborough County Recreation Department closed: Recreation centers, playgrounds.

Regional parks: All will be open.
