Postage poker run set for June 9 will benefit troops far from home

A Lea's Prayer and Postage Poker Run to support military personnel will be June 9, starting at Marine Corps League Detachment 708, 8405 Sunshine Grove Road.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the first riders will embark at 11 a.m. The run is open to all vehicles.
The cost is $20 for the first hand and $10 for additional hands. Prizes include $450 for the best poker hand and $50 for the worst hand.
Run stops include IR-RU in Floral City, Hooters in Spring Hill, VFW Post 8681 off County Line Road in Shady Hills and Bayport Inn.
Funds raised will go to Lea's Prayers and Postage Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Masaryktown, formed in memory of Marine Corps Sgt. Lea Robert Mills, a 21-year-old local man who was killed last year in Iraq.
The organization raises money to pay postage for sending packages to troops serving overseas. It has paid more than $20, 000 in postage since it was formed in May 2006.
