Honey's will bring its wings to Tampa site After 45 years in Niagara Falls, Honey's restaurant is buying up a second home here in Tampa at 14360 N Dale Mabry. The new restaurant, which promises to offer authentic Buffalo wings, should open this month in the space previously occupied by Block Brothers. Owner Larry Pacifico's father, the restaurant's founder, is coming out of retirement to help run the restaurant, and more than a few longtime employees will make the move from upstate New York to help out, Pacifico said. Pacifico has been visiting family and close friends in Tampa for years and after some frequent urging, he decided now is the time to open a second Honey's here. "It's such an explosive growth area, " he said. Pacifico stumbled upon the Carrollwood location while working out at the nearby Bally Total Fitness club, he said. Along with its wings, the restaurant serves pizza, burgers, melts, salads and sandwiches, along with such appetizers as the "garbage plate" piled with potato wedges, chili, cheeses, hot peppers, green onions, nacho chips and sour cream. Wine and beer, including 10 drafts on tap, will be available, and peanuts are handed out for free. The restaurant also will have 16 television screens prominently displaying sporting events, happy hour and late-night specials. There will be a game room in back and a full kid's menu.Hours are 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday-Saturday. The restaurant is hiring. Call 813 264-1616.
