Tourney will benefit scholarship fund

SPRING HILL

The Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council will host its annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on June 9 at the Seven Hills Golf Course, 10599 Fairchild Road, off Mariner Boulevard.

Women and men are invited to participate in the tournament. The cost is $45 per person. A shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. A luncheon will follow and door prizes presented at the St. Jude's Knights of Columbus Hall at 10470 Spring Hill Drive. A rain date is set for June 16.

Soccer team tryouts will start on today

First Hernando Youth Soccer and the Hernando Heat will conduct competitive team tryouts starting today at the soccer complex at Anderson Snow Park, 1360 Anderson Snow Road.

On Saturday and June 9, tryout times for boys and girls teams are:

- 9 a.m. for boys Under-13 through Under-18/19, and girls Under-16 and Under-17.

- 10:30 a.m. for boys U9 and U10, and girls U9 through U12.

On Monday, the tryout times for boys and girls teams are:

- 6 p.m. for boys U9 and U10, and girls U9 through U12.

- 7:30 p.m. for boys U13 through U18/19.

Additional tryout dates for boys and girls teams will be:

- Girls U13, 6 p.m. June 11, 9 a.m. June 16 and 6 p.m. June 18.

- Boys U11 and U12, 9 a.m. June 16 and 6 p.m. June 18

- Girls U16 and U17, 9 a.m. June 16.

Crabgrass Cowboys at Bandshell Bash

The Crabgrass Cowboys will headline the next Bandshell Bash, which will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. June 9 at the Hernando Park bandshell, 205 E Fort Dade Ave.

This is a free family-oriented concert hosted by the Hernando County Fine Arts Council and Bandshell Bash Committee.

The event will include the Brooksville Cruise-In, an antique hot rod car and motorcycle show.

There will also be an array of vendors, food and beverages.

First Tee is accepting registrations

Registration for the First Tee of Brooksville youth golf summer camp program is being taken through June 15.

The camp is for children ages 7-17 and will be held June 19 to July 26 at the Quarry Golf Course, 800 John Gary Grubbs Blvd. The instructor will be golf pro Robert Buck.

Times are scheduled for 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for ages 7-8 (target/par); 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays for ages 9-12 (par); 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays for ages 13-17 (par/birdie); and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Fridays for eagle players.

SPRING HILL

Bike, stunt show to help humane society

Motorcycle Enthusiasts will host a fundraiser Stunt Show and Bike Show to benefit the Humane Society of the Nature Coast from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10 at 5138 Commercial Way.

Registration for the bike show will start at 10 a.m. There will be bike washes, food and drinks. Attendees will also get a chance to see motorcycle stunt rider Todd Colbert.

Admission is free.
