Unitarian Universalists of Clearwater, 2470 Nursery Road: The Rev. Spirit of Life Unitarian Universalists, 18412 Burrell Road, Odessa: Retired New York businessman Al Mielen will give a presentation on "Our Environment Now: What You Can Do to Make a Difference" at the 11 a.m. Sunday service. Mielen and his wife, Anne, have formed Save Our Ship Environmental Institute to inform the public of environmental issues and suggest what can be done to help preserve the environment. Parbawatiya Buddhist Center, 201 Sixth Ave. S, Safety Harbor: "Peace at Last, " an introduction to meditation from 8 to 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Kadampa Buddhist tradition. The class, taught by Kelsang Sanden, will include two guided meditations and a short lecture and is suitable for beginners. The cost is $9; $5 for students and those on limited income. Clearwater Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1445 Lakeview Road: A Dollar Thrift Shop is 9 a.m. to noon every Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday. All items except the boutique are $1. Proceeds buy food given to the needy at the church community center. Call 446-6427.

Mount Moriah AME Church, 722 S Disston Ave., Tarpon Springs: A free meal is provided to anyone in need from 4 to 5 p.m. every Sunday. Volunteers should arrive by 2:30 p.m. The project is a joint effort of the church and Congregation B'nai Emmunah in Tarpon Springs. Call 938-9000.
