Her parents don't know about this.
Rebecca Reyes isn't much in contact with her folks, who live in her hometown of Queens, N.Y. But the 20-year-old Temple Terrace resident still has ties to Montauk, a Long Island vacation town where she used to spend her summers.
That's how she wound up in Playboy.
Reyes, who models under the name Reby Sky, happened to be visiting New York in September, when a photographer friend contacted her to say he was shooting a "Girls of Montauk" feature for July. He offered to include her in the issue, which hits newsstands Friday.
She is focusing full time on her modeling and dancing careers, and she says she has been in Stuff, GQ's German edition, an Axe body spray commercial and several music videos, including one with N.O.R.E. and Fat Joe. In July, Reyes will attend a party at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Here are excerpts from a conversation with tbt*.
How did your parents react?
My parents don't know yet. (laughs) I don't really talk to my parents, but I think I'm gonna send them an autographed copy and be like, "Hi, Mom!" ... They know I model. So I think they'll be happy for me.
You're bilingual and you're an accomplished dancer. So why do this?
I've been modeling for about two years now, and the opportunity for new work comes up a lot, and I turn it down a lot. But I think Playboy is an American cultural thing. It's the highest you can go if you want to be a printed model in the U.S. So I figured it's in good taste, and there's nothing sleazy about it. It's all beautiful; it's just a human art form. So it's like, well why not?
Through this process, what did you learn about how the industry works?
No matter who you are, or regardless of your height or the extra two pounds that you might have, if you really work and dedicate yourself - not just "Yeah, I'm a model. Whatever." - but really work, you'll get somewhere. Because I'm not all that tall (5 foot, 6 inches), and I don't have the big boobs, and I got Playboy.
What's your dream job?
Probably a Rockette. A Rockette or something on Broadway.
What's your ideal romantic date in Tampa Bay? (Guys, pump your brakes, she has a boyfriend.)
Probably going to Busch Gardens and then head out to a nice restaurant somewhere, and maybe a drink in Ybor.
What's your biggest turnoff?
Arrogance. People that are cocky. I cannot stand that.

Why argue over the metaphysical issue of the appropriate word to categorize her work? Everyone knows and has their own opinion of Playboy and where along the art - porn spectrum they feel it to be. Certainly, it isn't entirely either one. Nothing is.

To Jacks...Doesnt matter if she got paid or not. She has been published and gets the exposure. As for other "Girls of" models, Erika Eleniak is 1. She was in 3 different "girls of' issues and She went on to Baywatch and several movies.

Then from Merriam-Webster: "Pornography the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement" Is Playboy not attempting to sell sex? Calling it art is like calling a stripper a "dancer." It's just porn.

Loosen up, a drink can be anything from a soda to a cup of coffee. She's over 18 and an adult and I certainly don't see a beer gut on her.

I congratulate Reby Sky. She obviously has worked hard to attain the status of being a PUBLISHED model. Who knows what the future might hold for her. Quite a few of the models that were in "Girls of" issues went on to become centerfolds or more.

She seems a bit cavalier in regards to her parents. Other than that - if she wants to be in Playboy then who cares?

CD: The drinking age is 18 if you work in a restaurant in Pinellas County. Then your manager takes you out for drinks at all the local bars. Sad but true.

Why shouldn't this beautiful young woman be proud of being published in Playboy? Sounds to me like a few of you are either jealous or repressed.

To Reby, Congrats, I'm very very proud of you and proud to know you, you're terrific. To all those who wish to criticize this accomplishment I say grow up and get a life. To those who are surprised that underage drinking goes on in ybor, get a clue.

Jen II, as much as I like to use Wikipedia, it's not known to be a credible source. Very informative, but since almost anyone can edit the entries, it's open to quite a few loose screws with hangups.

Did one of the readers actually say for her to get breast augmentation and "then she would look fantastic". Give me a break. Women do not need to be fake to be beautiful and not everyone thinks that a boob job is attractive.

THEN....
In July, Swinskey will attend a party at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif.

For Jen II: Wikipedia is far from being a crediable source. And those in the industry view Playboy as artistic rather then pronographic. As I said before, heard of Hustler? That is considered porn.
As for Dallas, Playboy does like the natural ladies

pornography= obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit. Nude=An unclothed human figure, especially an artistic representation.
The condition of being unclothed. Playboy= nudity not porn

Quoting from Wikipedia is funny. Here is my turn directly from Wikipedia "Wikipedia cannot guarantee the validity of the information found here." This can go in circles.

Looks like she will be posing nude
to make a living- same as thousands of others.A better feature would have been "Older men that like to take naked pictures of their daughter-in-laws".
Odd.

From Wikipedia search on Playboy: "Playboy is an American pornographic magazine, founded in 1953". I think she's a beautiful girl. She will probably make lots of money.
