Pirates will invade John's Pass this weekend during John Levique Pirate Days, a celebration of sailing the high seas, swaggering, swordplay and swilling grog.

The fun Friday night is geared more to grownups, with the Pirates Ball from 7 to 11 at the Friendly Fisherman Pirate's Cove. The $5 cover includes an appetizer buffet and entry to the costume contest. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, the village in Madeira Beach will be filled with pirate entertainment and family-friendly activities, including treasure hunts, kids' costume contests and street performers. A flotilla invades Saturday. Most activities are free. (727) 393-8230, www.johnspassfestivals.com.
