APOLLO BEACH - Hillsborough sheriff's deputies say they discovered an indoor marijuana-growing operation early Friday inside an Apollo Beach home.

Investigators arrived at 720 Kingston Court just before 12:45 a.m. and found at least 250 marijuana plants growing throughout the home, said sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway.

Powered by amplifiers that boosted electrical current to a high-tech watering system and grow lights, the "upscale" home was a fully functional pot farm with marijuana growing in several rooms, Callaway said. Investigators also found marijuana in plastic bags and pot plants hanging on clotheslines to dry.

Gayle Copp, 53, believed to be the house's owner, was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Authorities named a man in connection with the case, but he had not been charged Friday afternoon.

The street value of the plants is estimated at $80,000 to $100,000.
