A man with Alzheimer's disease and dementia wandered away from an assisted living facility Monday morning, prompting a search by police. Harold G. Wenig, 82, lives at the Summerville at Beckett Lake Lodge assisted living facility at 2155 Montclair Road and was last seen about 8 a.m., officials said. Wenig, who left the facility without his medicine, was seen using an aluminum walker to head south on Hercules Avenue near the Frank Tack baseball complex. Police described Wenig as a white man with a thin build. He wears glasses, has thinning white hair and is balding on the top of his head. He was wearing a plaid shirt and blue nylon pants with a white stripe up the legs. He also might have been wearing a brightly colored visor or a plaid ball cap. Police ask anyone with information to call 727 562-4200.

And now another parent wanders away from the facility that children have entrusted with their mom/dad. What gives? Is there not some agency that can help us protect our patents that need care??
