Coach of the year
Dan Garofano, Nature Coast
Garofano led Nature Coast from two wins in its infancy to 20 this season in its fourth year. He coached the Sharks to their first district title and region quarterfinal appearances. Garofano has taken a new job with Savannah Country Day, a private school in Georgia.
First team
P - Bryan Daniels, Sr., Nature Coast
The Sharks' No. 1 pitcher, Daniels went 7-3 on the mound. He struck out 75 and recorded a 2.20 ERA to help Nature Coast post its best season in school history.
P - Kyle Neal, Sr., Hernando
Led the Leopards in RBIs, but his real impact was on the mound. Neal went 5-3 with 3.26 ERA and 57 strikeouts and routinely was called on to face some of Hernando's toughest opponents.
C - Travis Murray, Jr., Nature Coast
He improved his batting average by more than 30 points, hitting .369 with eight doubles, one home run and 23 RBIs.
INF - Kai Huff, Sr., Hernando
One of the top players in the county, Huff hit .400 with 15 RBIs and 21 runs scored and went 3-3 on the mound with a 3.10 ERA.
INF - Tommy Dwyer, Jr., Springstead
A utility player for the Eagles, Dwyer led Springstead with three home runs. He pitched, played outfield and shortstop and hit .380. He had a 2.77 ERA.
INF - Brandon Derespiris, Jr., Nature Coast
Hit .313 and led Nature Coast with 27 RBIs. Derespiris recorded seven errors all season at shortstop.
INF - Kenny Treverton, Jr., Nature Coast
Made one error all season while playing second base for the Sharks. Treverton hit .340.
OF - George Fribley, Jr., Hernando
The speedy underclassman came into his own in 2007, hitting .347 with 20 stolen bases.
OF - Kyle Kuzniar, Sr., Nature Coast
Leadoff hitter for the Sharks, Kuzniar batted .315 and stole 31 bases. He scored 31 runs.
OF - Lowell Bebout, Sr., Nature Coast
Bebout was the Sharks' best hitter during the last 15 games of the season and finished hitting .360 with three home runs.
DH - Blake Dudkewic, Sr., Nature Coast
Came up big for the Sharks with several timely hits. Dudkewic hit .383.
