Church plans fundraiser at hospice center

CLEARWATER

Bethel Community Baptist Church will hold a "Save our boys and young men" fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater.

The evening will include dinner and entertainment. The church's drumline and members of Gibbs High School will be among the performers. Tickets are $20. Call Anna Gustina Sinclair at (727) 327-6383, Maress Scott at (727) 251-7727 or the church at 866-2567.

ST. PETERSBURG

Church has new pastor for students

Blake Clark is the new pastor of students at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, 1900 Gandy Blvd. He will head Sublime, the church's student group for sixth- to 12th-graders.

Clark, 31, who grew up in Tennessee and attended Bible college in Pensacola, has served as a pastor to students for the past nine years. His most recent position was in Arizona. He and his wife, Amanda, have one daughter, Allison.

COUNTYWIDE

Recovery center needs various items

Solid Rock Christian Recovery Center needs construction materials to expand its residential drug and alcohol recovery program. Also needed are window air-conditioning units and household items such as televisions, microwaves, towels and blankets. Donated items can be dropped off at the center's office, 4128 28th St. N.
