WESLEY CHAPEL - A Fort Myers woman was arrested for driving under the influence after Florida Highway Patrol stopped her on Interstate 75 and she told them she was on six different prescription drugs for various medical conditions. Trooper J.A. Ramos says in a report that other motorists reported seeing Heather A. Sprague, 36, driving recklessly along I-75. After the trooper pulled her over, he said she performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Sprague told the trooper, however, that she had not been drinking but was taking six prescription drugs, including Valium and Percocet. She told the trooper that she suffers from seizures, kidney stones, an unknown mental disability and had recently had a lung operation. The Sheriff's Office says Sprague has been convicted twice before for driving under the influence, in 2001.
