The Monterey Pop Festival movie is coming to the Beach Theatre on Saturday and will include a live performance by the tribute band Uncle John's Band.

The movie is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival and the "Summer of Love."

The concert was held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, Calif., June 16-18, 1967. It featured performers such as Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

Each showing at the theater at 6:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. will include an additional 19-minute film of Otis Redding's performance. Uncle John's Band will perform between the two showings.

"This is the first time anything like this has ever happened here, " said Chris Nickelson, manager at Beach Theatre.

Mike Edwards, a member of Uncle John's Band, said they are excited about the performance.

He said someone e-mailed him about the movie.

"I thought we should do some middle-of-the-show stuff for it, " Edwards said.

"We were really into that era."

He said they don't plan to just do songs from the movie.

"We're going to pull something out, " Edwards said.

"I'm very excited about it."
