Let us in, Little Leaguers
By JOHN C. COTEY
Published June 22, 2007
Help.
Beginning Saturday, Little League season kicks into high gear as the 9- to 10-year-old All-Stars from New Port Richey, Hudson, Holiday, Shady Hills, Land O'Lakes, Dade City and Zephyrhills as well as a few places in between take the field in district action.
Next week, all the other divisions get going, all with the hopes of landing at one of the Little League World Series.
That's where you - coaches and Little League presidents, mostly, but we'll take calls from anyone - come in. We're looking to increase our coverage this summer with stories, notebooks and some things we haven't even dreamed up yet. We need your help.
So tell us what you think, where we should be, what you think we should be doing.
And if you're from any of the Little Leagues across the county, fill us in.
We plan to run Little League All-Star rosters next week, so send those in. And those ideas? Send those in, too.
We can be reached at johncotey@gmail.com or izzygould@gmail.com or by calling (813) 909-4612.

too much emphasis on the hot shots of wpll. a team is exactly what it says "A team" Can't win a game with just three. If they put the others out to shine then the three amigos wouldn't be hot any more. That is what the coaches AKA parents r afraid of

I really would like to see some news about our little leaguers in the paper. They deserve some recognition. This is my son's last year, he's been playing since he was 6, he is 17 now, and it's been a great experience for him and I will miss it.
