Airman Kyle J. Wood, 21, of Clearwater, graduated May 11 from six weeks of basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. During six weeks of training, Wood studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. He enlisted for six years and is currently enrolled in technical school to become an Air Force loadmaster. Wood is the son of Elizabeth "Betsy" Wood of Clearwater and the late James E. Wood. He is a 2003 graduate of Clearwater High School and has attended St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida.
