John Hofmann
Director of technical operations, Professional Communications Systems Inc.
John Hofmann brings more than 20 years of operations management experience in governmental and commercial organizations to Professional Communications Systems Inc., a Tampa broadcast and audiovisual consulting firm. Hofmann was previously with SRI/Surgical in Tampa, where he was plant manager, director of operations and Mid-Atlantic general manager. He served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 20 years as a flight crew member and chief master sergeant in the 99th Military Airlift Squadron. He is a graduate of Embry Riddle University.
Raul Aguilera
Director of rooms, Sandpearl Resort
Raul Aguilera brings more than 15 years of hotel management experience to Sandpearl Resort, which opens this summer on Clearwater Beach. Most recently, Aguilera was hotel manager of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, and has been general manager for the Wyndham Grand Bay Hotel in Miami, hotel manager for the Regency Hotel in New York City and director of rooms of the Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach.
Caryl N. Lucarelli
Vice president, human resources, The Americas, Tech Data Corp.
Caryl N. Lucarelli brings nearly 20 years of human resources experience to Tech Data Corp. She comes to Tech Data from Hughes Supply Inc. in Orlando, where she became vice president, human resources - Global Support Center after Home Depot bought the company. Previously, she has worked for Brambles Industries in Orlando, Volvo Trucks North America Inc. in Greensboro, N.C., and Dresser-Rand Co. in Corning, N.Y. Lucarelli earned a master's degree in industrial relations from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn., and a bachelor's degree in economics from Clemson University.
Joseph C. Harless
Construction project manager for Central Florida, Advantis Construction Co.
Joseph C. Harless will work out of the Tampa and Orlando offices for Advantis Construction Co. of Atlanta. Most recently, Harless was a project manager for Sweetbay and Kash n' Karry supermarkets in Tampa. Previously, he worked in project management for David Gerald Construction in Tampa, Precise Construction in Tampa and Princeton Construction in Plant City. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut. Harless is a trustee for the Bloomingdale Special Taxing District and has been a leader for the Boy Scouts of America for 16 years. He lives in Valrico.

Daniel C. Laggan has been named a design architect at SchenkelShultz, Tampa. Laggan was an associate/project director at Westlake Reed Leskosky in Cleveland.
AVIATION
Michael Doyle has been promoted to senior director sales at Avantair Inc., Clearwater. Doyle was regional sales director, north and midwest.
BANKING
Adam M. Curtis has been named assistant vice president and business banker at Whitney Bank's Fourth Street location in St. Petersburg. Curtis was a branch sales manager at Regions Bank, Palm Harbor.
Matt Lilla has been promoted to credit office in the loan department at Liberty Bank, Clearwater. Lilla was a credit analyst.
Board appointments
William R. Thomas has been elected to the board of the Florida Council on Economic Education. Thomas is managing director of Protiviti, Tampa.
FABRICATION
Andy Clark has been named chief financial officer at Cutting Edge Granite Inc., Largo. Clark was director of accounting and compliance at PGT Industries Inc. in Nokomis.
HEALTHCARE
Dr. Maria Gregory has been appointed to a three- year term as the cancer liaison physician for the cancer program at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Gregory is a gyne- cologist with a private practice in St. Petersburg.
INSURANCE
Stahl & Associates Insurance Inc., St. Petersburg, announces these promotions: Alan Read, executive vice president; Susan J. Brown and Kelly L. Petzold, senior vice presidents; Ken Williams, senior vice president of sales; and Candi O'Brien, senior vice president/branch manager. Renee Xiong is the recipient of Prevent Blindness Florida's 2007 Mildred M. Baynard Award. The award recognizes a volunteer or staff member who has made an outstanding contribution to the organization. Xiong is the account coordinator.
ORGANIZATIONS
John Harper has been named associate vice president and executive director of the University of South Florida Alumni Association. Harper retired from Verizon as director of commercial marketing and graduated from USF in 1976.
Sarah Krieger has been named a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association. Krieger will serve a three-year term. Krieger is a registered dietitian and developed and leads the weight management and fitness for families program at All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg.
SENIOR LIVING
Ginger Jordan has been promoted to sales and marketing director at the Allegro at East Lake, a independent and assistant living community in Tarpon Springs. Jordan was marketing representative.
