CANTON, OHIO

A former classmate of a man suspected of murdering a pregnant woman was charged Sunday with obstruction of justice, the FBI said. Myisha Ferrell was arrested hours after the body of 26-year-old Jessie Davis was found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, still carrying her dead, nearly full-term fetus. The Summit County medical examiner on Sunday confirmed the body was Davis'. The Stark County Sheriff's Department refused to discuss the arrest. Ferrell was to be arraigned today, the FBI said. Davis, of Lake Township near Canton, was reported missing June 15. Thousands of volunteers searched for Davis for several days, while investigators questioned Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, a police officer who is Davis' boyfriend and has an estranged wife. He is scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of murdering Davis and her fetus.

LOS ANGELES

Airport sprinklers douse passengers

Fire sprinklers at a Los Angeles International Airport terminal turned on Sunday after a water pipe broke, dousing passengers waiting for flights or picking up their bags. Terminal One was temporarily evacuated, and the baggage claim and screening areas experienced minor flooding, said airport spokesman Marshall Lowe. Lowe didn't know how long the sprinklers were on or how many people got wet, or have any estimates of damage to the airport. Several flights had been delayed, Lowe said, but he didn't know how many or for how long.

Elsewhere

Anchorage, Alaska: With dozens of buildings already destroyed by a wildfire that has grown to 81 acres, crews worked Sunday to protect hundreds of others tucked in the hills of the scenic Kenai Peninsula.

Ameyers, Calif.: An estimated 250 homes were destroyed and another 300 were threatened after a wind-whipped fire broke out Sunday afternoon near South Lake Tahoe, authorities said. The fire reportedly scorched 500 acres.
