Innisbrook sale won't affect PODS
By RODNEY PAGE, Times Staff Writer

The pending sale of the Westin Innisbrook Resort to Sheila C. Johnson, co-founder of Black Entertainment Television will likely have no effect on the PGA's PODS Championship. PODS and the PGA have five years left on a contract to play the tournament at Innisbrook, which was moved to a more favorable March date this season. "I hesitate to say anything because the sale is not official, but I wouldn't think this changes anything for us, " tournament spokesman Rick Odioso said. "We already have a contract in place, with five years to go, so I believe our relationship with the resort will remain the same." Three companies controlled by Johnson have agreed to pay $35 million for the resort.
