COUNTYWIDE There is no such thing as extra money, but free money? More than $700, 000 in grant money has been awarded in the past 42 years by the College Fund of Pinellas County. To qualify, a student must be a: - Pinellas County resident. - Current high school graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or have demonstrated the ability to pass 12 credit hours of college-level courses in a semester. - Full-time undergraduate student in an accredited college or university. - Pell grant recipient. CLEARWATER Shooting victim in fair condition A Clearwater man shot at his home near Jack Russell Stadium early Tuesday was in fair condition Wednesday at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, according to the hospital. Police have said that at least two intruders forced their way into Deon Strawder's home and shot the man, 42, when he emerged. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday.
