NetSmartz educational workshop: The Internet Safety Education Initiative featuring NetSmartz is an animated, interactive, age-appropriate software program. It is designed by the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children to protect children from unsolicited sexual material while online.

Adult educational workshops, sponsored by Hillsborough County and Verizon, are scheduled at the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, 2902 W Bearss Ave., 1 p.m. today and John F. Germany Public Library, 900 N Ashley Drive, 1 p.m. July 7. Call 813 273-3652.

Northdale OWLS: The Northdale Older, Wiser, Lively, Seniors will meet for a matinee at 2:30 p.m. The group will see the Carrollwood Players' musical Cabaret at the Carrollwood Playhouse, 4333 Gunn Highway. The cost is $11. Call (813) 961-4438.

North Tampa Arts League: The league will present Under the Summer Sun featuring artworks by 20 established, local artists. There will be an opening party from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 7 at Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, 2902 W Bearss Ave.

The Art Series will run from July 2 through Aug. 23.

TUESDAY

OWLS potluck luncheon: The Northdale Older, Wiser, Lively, Seniors will host its monthly potluck luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. Bring a dish to share. In celebration of the Fourth of July, the singing group Screech Owls will provide entertainment. Maureen Patrick, director of Historic Guides, will appear as Betsy Ross. Meetings are at Northdale Park, 15550 Spring Pine Drive, off Northdale Boulevard. Call (813) 963-3539.

2007 Moral Courage Award: The Hillsborough County Commission is accepting nominations for the annual award through 5 p.m. July 11. Anyone may submit a nomination; all Hillsborough County residents are eligible to receive the award.

The award honors exceptional ethical standards and moral courage by an individual or group-people who have questioned authority and rejected the status quo.
